ADRA Appeal Resources

ADRA Australia has prepared a range of resources to assist local ADRA Appeal Coordinators for churches, schools and Pathfinder groups in participating in the ADRA Appeal.

	The new ADRA Appeal brochure assists volunteer collectors in informing community members about what ADRA does with their donation as well as providing information about ADRA's work. It also shows what different donations can do for someone in need by giving real-life examples of how people's lives in Australia and overseas have been changed through the work of ADRA.
	ADRA Appeal Door-Knocking Made Easy can be used to help prepare for, and run, the ADRA Appeal. Pages from this resource can be photocopied and shared with church members and volunteer collectors—helping to equip them for the ADRA Appeal. This resource includes: ADRA Appeal Resources Available - outlines the resources available to churches. Five Reasons To Go Door-knocking - outlines arguments for door-knocking that will motivate church members. What Your Church’s Support Can Do - provides an overview of what each church’s support could do if it raised specific amounts for the ADRA Appeal. ADRA Appeal Timeline - suggests activities and times during which they should be carried out. Door-knock Speeches - suggests speeches that can be used during the ADRA Appeal. Common Objections and Suggested Responses - provides ways of addressing common objections and responses. Collecting From Businesses - suggests an approach for collecting from businesses. Handling Cheque and Credit Card Donations - recommends procedures for handling these donations. Collector Sign-up Sheet - helps record the names of all ADRA Appeal collectors to enable them to be resourced in the future. Survey– enables each church to share their ADRA Appeal experiences with ADRA to help better plan and support the ADRA Appeal in the future. Activity Registration Form– lets ADRA know that you are planning to run an activity other than the door-knock, and seeks authorisation. Please return to local Director of ADRA Services.

	A region-specific news release can be used to promote the ADRA Appeal locally through local media such as local newspapers and community radio stations. This region-specific news release can be accessed from the Director of ADRA Services at a local Conference of the Seventh-day Adventist Church.
	The plans for the 2011 ADRA Appeal media advertising include a 30-second TV and radio advertisement featuring Brett Lee. You can download the ADRA Appeal TV advertisements and use them to promote the ADRA Appeal within your church, school or Pathfinder group.
