Stand Up and Take Action against Poverty
Want to Stand Up against Poverty with Rove? Well, you can!
| This year, a number of television celebrities including
Rove McManus, Zoe Naylor, Brooke Satchwell as well as musicians Missy
Higgins and Lior will be pledging their support of Make Poverty History
by taking part in the annual Stand Up and Take Action against Poverty. You too can get in on the action by organising your own Stand Up event from Friday, 17th October till Sunday, 19th October. Get your school, work, or uni involved, you could even have a dinner party or a BBQ with friends or Stand Up at church. It's really easy! If you, your school, your youth group or your work are interested in taking part in the Stand Up and Taking Action against Poverty, then check out the Stand Up website and register your interest with Make Poverty History. |

By taking part in the Stand Up you show that you care
about global poverty and that you want our government to take action to
fight poverty. The more people you can get to participate in the 2009
Stand Up, the greater the impact that we can have with politicians and
decision makers. Last year 107,000 Australians stood with 43.7 million
people worldwide making the Guinness Book of Records for the largest
single coordinated movement of people in history. Let's beat that
record and show the world that we are serious about making poverty
history. Please email ADRA to share your Stand Up and Take Action against Poverty picture and story. *ADRA is a member organisation of Make Poverty History and is proud to support this initiative. Read more of ADRA's partnership with Make Poverty History. |
