Adventures of Adraroo in Nepal

Hi young Aussies!

While on a recent trip to Nepal, I met many interesting people, especially the women ADRA is working with to help them improve their own lives. ADRA is partnering with special groups called women's cooperatives to teach women things like how to read and write, and how to make things to earn a living. Some women I met make candles, which they sell to earn some money. This helps them pay for things their families need, like sending their kids to school.

While visiting these women, they helped me make some candles. Would you like to help me decorate them? Get your colour-in activity now and then simply colour them in or use glitter, beads, stickers to decorate them.

On my visit I also got to eat off plates made from leaves! They are made by sewing leaves together with straw and plant stems. These traditionally known as Tapari (large plate) or Duna (small plate). Rural Nepali commonly use these leaf plates for marriage ceremonies, rituals, worship ceremonies, festivals and feasts.
