Disaster and Famine Relief Offering
January 2011, Queensland, Australia.
February 22, 2011, Christchurch, New Zealand.
March 11, 2011, Japan.
These dates, and the disasters which played out on them, are burnt into our collective memory. With such massive, back-to-back disasters our hearts have become increasingly burdened by the pain being felt around the world.
| Within hours of each disaster, ADRA raced into action, immediately meeting the needs of those affected by providing shelter, food, clothing and importantly, support. Even now, after the media has gone and stories are no longer brought to public attention, ADRA continues to meet immediate needs of survivors and is working to ensure these communities get back on their feet. It's thanks to people like you that ADRA can continue to respond in times such as these. |

What can your offering do?
Our response to these disasters was in part possible due to the generous support of the Disaster and Famine Relief Offering. On May 21, Seventh-day Adventist Church members across Australia will once again have an opportunity to support the Disaster and Famine Relief Offering and help support the Disaster Preparedness and Response fund which provides immediate disaster response, such as food, medical aid, emergency relief and development assistance during disasters such as Christchurch earthquake disaster, Japanese earthquake and tsunami and the Queensland flood and cyclones. It will also be used to equip communities and emergency response volunteers for future emergencies and disasters.
