ADRA Wins Anti-Tobacco Campaign
2nd May, 2011

Wahroonga, New South Wales — An anti-tobacco campaign designed and implemented by the Adventist Development and Relief Agency (ADRA) Australia has taken out not one, but two prizes in a competition organised by the Mongolian Advertisement Association.
The campaign, which forms part of the ADRA Australia funded Health Eduction Against Tobacco (HEAT) project, featured a radio advertisement entitled 'My Name is Tobacco'.
In the advertisement, a seductive female voice plays the role of a cigarette, but is ultimately exposed as being harmful to your health.
Both this radio advertisement and second digital advertisement took out second prize amongst close to 500 submissions.
"Tobacco and alcohol are major issues in Mongolia," said Cameron Reid, ADRA Australia International Programs Co-ordinator. "The advertisements, along with the entire HEAT project will bring greater levels of education and health to thousands of Mongolians."
ADRA's campaign is being launched in the lead up to Word No Tobacco Day on May 31.
Since 2008, the HEAT project has been working with local schools, governments businesses and media to reduce the negative health risks associated with the supply and smoking of tobacco. Return to News Room
