I Huffed, I Puffed, I Changed the World
21st August, 2007

Approximately thirty runners, including ADRA Australia Chief Executive Officer, David Jack, participated in the event, raising the money for ADRA via sponsorships.
The ADRA Australia running team was also the fourth top fundraising team on the day.
“It was a great day to get together and do something for those in need,” said David Jack. “We only had to do the 14km run once, and then go home to rest. And our Heartbreak Hill only lasted 2kms. People in poverty face hardship and heartbreak everyday, all day, with no rest. Participating in this run is a small price to pay to actually make a difference in someone’s life. Our thanks goes to all the ADRA runners and those who sponsored them.”
Participants and spectators on the day also learnt more about the work of ADRA, with ADRA runners wearing ADRA t-shirts and specially made back-bibs that said ‘I Huffed, I Puffed, I Changed the World’. Three ADRA supporters also carried a 3-metre long banner throughout the run.
For the first time in the 37-year history of the fun run,
organiser The Sun-Herald helped
runners change the lives of others by assisting them in raising money for their
favourite charity. Runners created personal fundraising webpages to use in
inviting family and friends to sponsor them. Many of those running for ADRA met
or exceeded their fundraising targets. The donations will be used to support ADRA
Australia’s work in
