National Projects
Below are a sampling of the types of projects ADRA implements within Australia.
Women's Refuges
ADRA operates a number of refuges on the east coast of Australia. Women's refuges assist women and children who have predominantly been made homeless by domestic violence. Refuges provide medium-term accommodation.
At-Risk Youth Projects
ADRA's at-risk youth programs address issues facing Australian youth including depression, drug use, violence, bullying, suicide and other at-risk behaviours. Along with other partners, ADRA is providing a range of services to give youth a greater chance of becoming confident, fulfilled, focused, connected and meaningful members of society.
Refugee Assistance Projects
ADRA's resettlement programs for refugees from Africa provide material support such as clothing and food as well as driving lessons and conversational English education.
School-based Resilience Projects
ADRA's Getting Connected initiative supports and links schools willing to take a whole school community approach to building resilience qualities in young people.
Transition Services
ADRA provides a number of services to meet immediate needs
of those in financial crisis, providing food
parcels and other forms of relief while developmentally addressing the
underlying issues that cause such poverty amongst Indigenous and non-Indigenous
Australians.
Emergency Management
ADRA also responds to disasters that occur within Australia and overseas.
