Support a Project
ADRA partners with communities in poverty to address vital issues such as food security, water and sanitation, education, economic development and the impact of HIV and AIDS. ADRA also works with vulnerable individuals and communities here in Australia.
Your support can help end the causes and effects of poverty around the world.
Here are some ways you can put your donation to work.
Need of the Month
But ADRA's Flying Clinic project brings healthcare into the heart of villages only accessibly by air. Four times each year medical teams visit remote villages throughout PNG's Eastern Highland and Simbu Provinces. By providing immunisations, treating the sick, supervising births and training traditional birth attendants, along with health education and emergency evacuations the Flying Clinics save hundreds, if not thousands of lives each year. Support for this project comes solely from private donations - without them, the Flying Clinic project is grounded.
Malawi: Tsogolo La Bwino (Working Together)
During
the last 12 months ADRA's Tsolgolo La Bwino (Working Together) project
has assisted more than 7,000 of Malawi's rural poor. Through training in
sustainable gardening, literacy, hygiene and sanitation, and financial
management ADRA has empowered these people to change their lives.
In addition, ADRA has
facilitated the formation of savings and loans groups, installed two
boreholes and three 'elephant' water pumps, providing practical
assistance to individuals, families and communities - all in this
projects first year of implementation! And it keeps growing. ADRA
Australia has just committed further funds to purchase and support 18
bicycle ambulances. These ambulances will improve access to health care
services for rural villagers, who currently have to travel long
distances to the nearest health facility.

Imagine being avoided, rejected, denied access to
employment and other opportunities, and constantly feeling like you have
a neon sign above your head stating "HIV Positive". For people living
with HIV in West Papua, Indonesia, this is how every day feels. The lack
of general health information and understanding of the spread and
prevention of HIV causes people to respond in fear; ostracising those
that carry the disease. ADRA is helping to address this issue by
disseminating health information related to HIV through health workers,
monthly radio programs and by establishing Voluntary Counseling and
Testing Centers. Your support today can help people of West Papua access
vital health information and help to fight discrimination associated
with HIV and AIDS.
Imagine
feeling cold, hungry and powerless to change your circumstance. In
Mongolia, many people feel just that. With winter frosts lasting nine

before new food can be grown and harvested. ADRA is teaching Mongolian
families, skills that will help them develop and operate all-weather
green-house facilities which will give an all-year access to nutritious
food and create income generation opportunities. You can support
this project and help imporove the health and well-being of Mongolian
families.
Often when we think og Fiji we think of the tranquil tourist location and the beautiful beaches. Yet in this land of paradise, 44% of the population live in poverty, a factor recognised as key to young people leaving school early. With low level of education and low employment opportunities young people undertake illegal activities and at-risk behaviour. ADRA is addressing this socio-economic issue by helping youth make informed and healthy life choices through mentoring, activities and by providing information about health issues. So don't wait for another Fijian youth to drop out of school before you take action. Support ADRA's AusAID partnership program to give Fiji youth a brighter future. Give now!
