ADRA Responds to NSW Floods
27 September, 2016
Major flooding in central west NSW continues, with ADRA assisting at least 35 people in Forbes to find temporary emergency accommodation.
Three ADRA volunteers and one area coordinator have been dealing with some of the most vulnerable people the community. The ADRA team is also being complemented by some Anglicare volunteers.
An Evacuation Order is still in place and the town has been declared a Natural Disaster. The Australian Defence Force has been on the ground in Forbes over the past 48 hours as the town has been overwhelmed by the rising floodwaters.
More rain is on the way leading to potential rises in river levels again, with additional flooding over the next week.
Please uplift everyone affected by the floods in prayer, and join us in thanking all the volunteers and emergency services crews who are helping out!
