Mark Webster departs as CEO
25 July, 2017
25 July 2017: ADRA Australia chief executive Mark Webster has announced he will be leaving the organisation after six years to take up the position of Regional Director at ADRA in Asia.
Mr Webster said he is looking forward to his new role, based in Bangkok, but said the decision was not an easy one.
“It has been a difficult decision to leave and embrace new challenges with ADRA in Asia, but I am sure that whoever takes on the leadership of ADRA Australia will be equally blessed by their interactions with our wonderful employees, volunteers, supporters and partners,” Mr Webster said.
“When I left Australia in 1996 to volunteer for ADRA in Laos I did not anticipate, or even aspire to, a future role as CEO of ADRA Australia.
“I’m very grateful for the opportunity that I’ve had to lead ADRA’s work in Australia and continue to be inspired by the people that I have had the opportunity to work with in my roles at ADRA Australia over the last six years.
After joining ADRA Australia in 2011, Mr Webster worked as Director of Program Effectiveness and Planning until 2013 when he took the helm as CEO.
Prior to joining ADRA Australia, Mr Webster served in various roles at ADRA International, ADRA Nepal and ADRA Laos.
Mr Webster will finish at ADRA Australia towards the end of the year.
