ADRA Community Bus – Pakenham Australia
Donate NowAustralia
The ADRA Community Bus in Pakeham is run by volunteers from the local Adventist church and the community. We work in partnership with the council’s emergency relief network to provide food parcels, groceries, case management, court/fines (WDP), and clothing to families and individuals in crisis.. This service caters for food intolerances, cultural preferences, access difficulties and specific needs with some flexibility to suit all client’s circumstances.
ADRA’s well-being to well-giving focus promotes a healthy lifestyle. Our clients state that they enjoy an ADRA food parcel and/or meal as the food is fresh, caters for intolerances, is nutrient dense and resembles a home cooked meal.

Stories
Jess and Michael’s 2020 started with a bang – their daughter was born in February. But shortly after bringing her home they were placed into lockdown. Then Michael’s hours were cut due to the pandemic at the same time Jess’ maternity leave payments ended. With two little kids, Michael and Jess were under great financial stress. “We didn’t know how we were going to pay our mortgage, our bills or feed our little family,” says Jess. “We were truly at our lowest point.”
Jess was put in touch with ADRA in Pakenham, Cardinia Shire and instantly noticed a change. “The support we have received has been overwhelming!” she says. “They have been understanding, welcoming, giving, and so supportive. ADRA has put food on our table, taken care of our little family and we will be forever grateful for everything they have done for us. Our son gets so excited each week when we receive our goodies and has started to make his own care packages for our elderly neighbors when we have too much food to get through.”
