The ADRA Community Care Centre in St Albans is run by volunteers from the local Seventh-day Adventist Church and the community. We work in partnership with the council’s emergency relief network to provide timely food provisions for families and individuals in crisis. This service caters for food intolerances, cultural preferences, access difficulties and specific needs with some flexibility to suit all client’s circumstances.

ADRA’s well-being to well-giving focus promotes a healthy lifestyle. Our clients state that they enjoy an ADRA food parcel and/or meal as the food is fresh, caters for intolerances, is nutrient dense and resembles a home cooked meal.

“While the main benefit of receiving food relief is feeling less hungry (44%), many Australians experiencing food insecurity have also noticed improvements in their mental well-being. One in 3 (33%) say their mental health has improved as a result of receiving assistance, while one in 4 (25%), say they are able to focus and concentrate better.” – Foodbank Report, 2019.
