ADRA Community Care Centre – Ferntree Gully Australia
Donate NowAustralia
The Ferntree Gully ADRA Community Care Centre is run by volunteers from the local Adventist church and the community. We work in partnership with the council’s emergency relief network to provide timely food provisions for families and individuals in crisis. This service caters for food intolerances, cultural preferences, access difficulties and specific needs with some flexibility to suit all client’s circumstances.
ADRA’s well-being to well-giving focus promotes a healthy lifestyle. Our clients state that they enjoy an ADRA food parcel and/or meal as the food is fresh, caters for intolerances, is nutrient dense and resembles a home cooked meal.

Stories
“I was really struggling to scrape money together for even the basics, including food,” says Jodie, who was at crisis point. A reduced disability pension and inability to work made her incredibly vulnerable.
A friend introduced Jodie to the ADRA Community Care Centre at Ferntree Gully. Here, Jodie received not just the food she needed, but also the support and friendship she desperately missed.
“The first time I came in I was in tears with thankfulness, just with the help and how lovely people were. I just wanted to be part of it. The very next week I started volunteering – that was two years ago,” she says. “It’s amazing to be a part of it.”
Having overcome her own crisis through the support of ADRA and the people she found volunteering there, Jodie is now helping others do the same.
