Nepal

The women in Rolpa, Nepal, have been learning about women’s empowerment and rights in an effort to address sexual and gender-based violence. In honour of International Women’s Day on March 8, together with local police these women organised a campaign to #ChooseToChallenge gender inequality.

The POWER Project, supported by Australian Government Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade‘s #ANCP is a consortium led project by ADRA, Caritas, INF and LWF in 24 districts of Nepal. The project’s aim is to advance the position of women in rural Nepal to effectively contribute to good governance and inclusive development.

This week we will be celebrating the achievements of women we have been blessed to partner with in making positive changes in the world.

Margaret is her community’s leader for the LEAFFS project with ADRA Vanuatu, helping to promote the importance of women’s participation in community projects. She has been an avid attendee of ADRA’s food and livelihood workshops over the years and is now using that knowledge to improve her farming techniques.
