SEAS for Cocoa Farmers Solomon Islands

The Sustainable Economic and Agriculture Solutions (SEAS) for Cocoa Farmers project helps 3,000 farmers grow cocoa ways that are climate-resilient. It teaches improved farming methods, promotes inclusion, and connects farmers directly to buyers, helping them earn more and build stronger, more sustainable livelihoods.

The project will particularly addres rainy season challenges through solar and adaptive drying technologies. Farmers will also receive access to improved planting materials, tools, and collective infrastructure such as fermentation boxes and solar dryers.

The project embeds gender equality, disability inclusion, and safeguarding across all components

Increasing Livelihood Opportunities – How is ADRA helping?

The Solomon Islands is one of many countries where ADRA is helping to improve income opportunities for families and individuals, helping to lift them out of poverty.

We have ongoing livelihood projects that have been developed in collaboration with trusted partners and communities to build more sustainable lives which in turn creates food security and keeps children in school. Examples of ADRA livelihoods project activities include:

– Educating farmers on the safe use of pesticides
– Introducing new seed varieties and climate-resilient crops
